Wet Weather
The cancellation of events will be at the discretion of the Committee based upon the specific weather conditions in the Cranebrook area.
HOT WEATHER GUIDELINES
It must be taken into account that children are especially at risk in the heat and are at a greater risk of suffering from heat illness. A common sense approach is encouraged with consideration given to the comfort and well-being of all athletes, officials and spectators.
In warm weather, temperature readings will be taken at regular intervals. Once the ambient temperature reaches 26-30 degress celcius and 60% humidity athletes, parents, officials and spectators are encourage to bring and drink plenty of water and seek shade where possible before and after an event. Once the ambient temperature reaches 31 - 34 degress celcius with humidity above 50%, consideration will be given to postponing distance events to a later time when the weather has cooled.
In extreme hot weather, the Committee will consult the Little Athletics NSW Hot Weather Guideline and make a decision on whether competition will proceed. Updates will be made via the Club's Facebook page. If you are unsure, you can contact Centre President, Michael Sullivan, on 0488 552 179.
